Who are The Skeptics?

Andy Zukowski, Kieran Moore and Peter 'Badger' West, collectively known as 'The Skeptics', are a North Oxfordshire based male acapella trio who have fast become known locally for their stunning harmonies and distinctive style.

With their musical roots firmly planted in a variety of styles including folk, jazz and choral they came together in 2009 via a shared desire to bring something different to the folk canon whilst honouring its traditions and heritage.
As regular performers at several local festivals including Bunkfest and Folk Weekend Oxford they always delight audiences of all ages and have quickly built up a reputation as the perfect act for any occasion with their 'standing room only' performances.
In August 2012 they recorded their first live album, the appropriately titled 'Live Round the Globe' in the Globe Room at the Reine Deer Inn in Banbury. The eclectic mix of songs and styles includes everything from Blur to Bagpuss and Bluegrass to The Bahamas and perfectly encapsulates their passion for mixing the traditional with the unexpected.
They also host a regular monthly "Singing Session" at The Bell Pub in Adderbury. Held on the second Monday of the month, it enables singers of all backgrounds and abilities to come together and make music.
Continually going from strength to strength, 2018 promises to be bigger and better than ever as they delight audiences with their recent album "Profile".
The Skeptics' philosophy is that anything sung more than once is traditional and they aim to continue adding their Folk-Fusion twist to a range of “traditional” songs the listener may just recognise from elsewhere!
“Their carefully honed three-part harmonies are a joy to hear and they are also great fun to watch!” – BANBURY FOLK FESTIVAL
“You sound great – please can you go away?” – JAN RAVENS (Star of BBC’s Dead Ringers)
